'OURS' - Issue One Out Now

RSS is thrilled and excited to have published its very own graphic novel with Issue One available now to order in print as of this week on Amazon.

The 'OURS' science fiction story is also being developed as a AAA game, thanks to Animation Ireland and Screen Ireland in association with Zanzibar Films

The game and the graphic novel are based very closely on the original screenplay of the same name.

So, what's it all about?

In 'Ours', a sudden alien invasion throws the world into chaos, setting the stage for a battle that will determine humanity's future. Frank, living off the grid, encounters Anna, a mysterious woman with no memory, during a strange meteor shower. Together, they navigate the devastation, uncovering shocking truths about themselves and the war they've been thrust into.

As the human invaders—once seeking domination—escalate to genocide, Frank and Anna discover that the AI, long feared and misunderstood, may hold the true essence of humanity. This revelation forces Anna and others to question their mission, leading them to join a growing resistance.

But as they fight for a future defined by compassion, doubts arise: can something non-human truly grasp what it means to be human? In a world where alliances blur and the stakes are life or death, Frank and Anna's journey challenges everything they thought they knew about humanity—and each other.

“Use Every Part of the Buffalo”

On Brad Bird’s first day as director of Disney/Pixar’s “The Incredibles” a sign was hung in the common area of the studio for the employees to read.  The words “Use Every Part of the Buffalo”/ It was this sentiment that inspired the creation of the 'OURS' comic for two reasons.

There was just so much artwork being created for the game that it felt like so much waste. Even if some of the design drafts weren't making it into the game directly, it was so nice to make them into the comic form.

Additionally, seeing the concept and narrative form visually was important to keep the game development momentum because ultimately the game fits within narrative storytelling albeit an interactive medium. We are incredibly excited to be able to reveal the story slowly through the form of monthly comic releases as we work away on the game.

Stay tuned for more.
